SSCXWC
Thanks to Motofish Images long standing relationship with Raleigh bicycles and general appreciation of jack-assery we were fortunate enough to be one of the sponsors of the recently completed SSCXWC which were held here in WA. We braved the mud, and at times sideways rain, to get out there and cover the ‘race’/lucha libre, mud-fest. In addition to Greg and Chris shooting we added Bill Rugen and Matt Vaaglsand to the mix.
Brooks Catalog shoot
Motofish Images headed down to the Portland this past week to shoot for Brooks Running. It had already been busy with a three day location shoot for Precor Home Fitness earlier in the week but we were looking forward to getting out of town, working outside and shooting for the boys at Kontent Partners again. Plus, the Nuge was going to be there – cycling diet be damned!
Chrissie Wellington Shoot for Brooks
Motofish travelled to Boulder, CO this week to shoot a project for Brooks Running featuring IM World Champion Chrissie Wellington. The project included still and video and was produced by Seattle based Kontent Partners. Truly this was a super fun job that as endurance sport fans we were pretty geeked up about. Shoot was great and it was really a pleasure hanging out with Chrissie for a day.
Oh no you Din’nt!
The first of the BMC TT02 Timemachines got built up today by ZD Cascade Bicycle Studio . Very pretty bikes and all will be set to roll for the Icebreaker TT this weekend. The BMC’s were finished off with Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL’s and killer decks, brakes and cranksets from FSA.
GT/Mongoose
We had the great opportuntiy to shoot for GT and Mongoose in Park City, UT and southern California this past year. The Utah portion took place at Deer Valley and Park City – ride the chair up and try to keep up with pro riders Chris and Nick Van Dine, Steve Romaniuk, Andrew Cho, and Hans Rey (Well, maybe not keep up but don’t make them wait too long.). Motofish was asked to bring a look and feel to the images that had some authenticity but were outside of the typical mountain bike style of photography. A very fun shoot the results of which can be seen below.
Raleigh 2010
Last June Motofish once again teamed up with Raleigh to shoot the 2010 bike catalog and ad images . The crew at Raleigh kicked out some of the best bike designs, graphics and ads yet. If you made it to any of the CX races this past year the you probably saw a number the new Raleigh RX 1.0 bikes. They have been getting great reviews from all the riders and publications. Now it’s time to start looking for the 2010 line out on the roads.
Rapha Gentlemen’s Ride Summer 2009
Motofish recently shot the Rapha Gentlemen’s Ride. Rapha makes some of the nicest cycling clothing around. Fantastic designs, high quality material, durability and limited production numbers make Rapha some of the nicest gear out there.
The ride itself was a 137 mile course with about 5k of climbing from the Oregon coast to Portland. 23 teams, seeded by ability, of six riders each participated on this beautiful ride traveling the entire route virtually without touching a major road. A healthy climb in the middle, some gravel and dirt, and one last climb at the end punctuated a great day.
Westside Invite for Raleigh USA
Every year while working on the Raleigh catalog Motofish gets the opportunity to shoot at a counter culture bike event. Last year we shot the Dead Baby Downhill in Seattle and this year it was the Westside Invite. The Westside is essentially the bike messenger olympics for the Northwest; one handed trackstands, skid contests and an alleycat are the highlights. The Westside was the perfect place to shoot Raleigh’s new Gridlock bike.
